Robert Sims - Lyric Baritone

Robert Sims, the Gold Medal winner of the Enmark American Traditions Competition, has been hailed by critics for his "rich luxuriant tone", "energetic performances" and "convincing stage presence".

He is highly regarded for his "moving" and "authentic" interpretations of African American spirituals and has given recitals of spirituals throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Mr. Sims has performed these concerts at the Smithsonian Institute, the Los Angeles African-American Museum, Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, the Chicago Historical Society, the Latour de France International Music Festival in Latour, France and the American Church in Paris.  He was also featured in Classical Singer Magazine highlighting his recital tours and his varied concert career.

Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra

The Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, directed by Lenny King, is the Chicago area's newest big band. This twenty piece group consists of professional free-lance musicians, including some who have toured with the bands of Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Tommy Dorsey and others. The CMJO specializes in the performance of the original arrangements of the Stan Kenton Orchestra.

Chestnut Brass Quintet

The Grammy winning Chestnut Brass Company was founded in 1977 to advance the art and skills of musical performance and the knowledge and understanding of musical history with an emphasis on brass instruments. By presenting performances featuring brass music of all eras, the ensemble strives to reflect the tradition and spirit of brass instruments.

Alpin Hong

Equally captivating in his interpretations of Schubert, Shostakovich, Scarlatti or Stravinsky, Alpin Hong thrills audiences with his stunning virtuosity, artistic vision, and irreverent style. First Prize Winner at the 2001 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, and the first pianist in eight years to win CAG’s highest honor, his charismatic performance won him standing ovations and the jury’s unanimous vote. Mr. Hong’s subsequent New York recital debut on the CAG series at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall garnered remarkable praise from New York Times, which cited his performance for its “crystalline energy,” “clear and persuasive ideas” and “remarkable breadth and coloration.”
